Magnesium
Why Is It So Important For Us...

Magnesium
is a nutrient that the body needs to stay healthy. It is an important mineral involved in many
aspects of health. It plays a huge part
in making the body work efficiently and right.
Without it, your muscles are unable to move in the correct way which
leads to your nerves unable to send and receive messages to other parts of the
body.
Magnesium helps to regulate muscle and nerve function, blood sugar levels, and blood pressure and making protein, bone, and DNA.
Ideally, it is best to get magnesium from food sources but not always possible in todays fast paced world and demands of day to day chaos. Sometimes we have to get the help by way of supplements.
There are many different forms of Magnesium that you can get and I highly recommend you research and read more about the forms before deciding, personally, I have got on really well with the form Magnesium Bisglycinate capsules (vegan with no fillers).
Food sources of Magnesium include:
Dark leafy greens such as spinach/chard, avocado, beans, nuts such as almonds and cashews, seeds such as sesame/pumpkin/sunflower, bananas, figs, flaxseed, okra, dark chocolate, edamame, wheatgerm, wholegrains, quinoa (cooked)

As with anything I write about on my Beautiful Life page, blog or posts, the subjects are important to me. Using Magnesium in its various forms over the years has supported my health tremendously, especially in respect of debilitating headaches/migraines as well as more recently to assist menopause symptoms.
Menopause can lower magnesium levels as well as some formal medications so supplementing magnesium into the diet may help symptoms. I have found a huge change in my life since increasing my Magnesium levels this past year.
Finally another little personal favourite of mine…Magnesium Flakes are also very good source of magnesium – absorbed through the skin into the bloodstream via baths. Add pure lavender oil to help as extra relaxation too. An excuse to take some well deserved “YOU” time, try it and seek the benefits.
